A Family Affair of the Heart ...
Pepe and Chela’s hasn’t moved far in terms of location, but very far
in terms of evolving as one of northeast Kansas’ premier Mexican
restaurants. From eight booths, a dining counter and a small kitchen to
its present location, the Avila family has presented Mexican cuisine to
Topeka restaurant goers since 1986. Today Pepe and Chela’s menu
features Avila family recipes as well as “newer” recipes developed in
response to loyal customers’ tastes. Fresh ingredients, “homemade”
salsas, pico de gallo and made to order dishes keep customers coming
back for more of Pepe and Chela’s famous Mexican food. The Avila family
